Twitter Chat: Preparing for a New School Year!

The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, Attendance Works and Foundations, Inc. hosted an interactive Twitter chat in preparation for the new school year. We posed eight questions during the hour-long chat to get the conversation going.

Participants wrote about how they are starting off the school year with best practices to welcome all students and families at the start of school, to create a conducive learning environment and help encourage strong attendance. We talked about what schools and districts are doing to inform families about attendance priorities at the start of school. We chatted about approaches that work to engage families, particularly of younger students, around the importance of strong attendance. Co-sponsors and participants shared links to resources they find helpful to encourage all students to be in school every day.

We’ve collected the tweets that took place during the Preparing for a New School Year Twitter chat. Download a PDF copy of the August 21, 2019 chat.

Don’t forget to join us in September for two more Attendance Twitter Chats!
