Workshop: Plan Now for Better Attendance

RaaWee K12 is offering a free, virtual workshop for districts on April 20, titled Building a Strategic Plan for Reducing Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy.

This workshop, available to educators at no cost, is part of a series presenting strategies for using chronic absence data, responding to barriers to showing up, multitiered system intervention approaches and activities for attendance team building. While Attendance Works does not endorse commercial products, we think it is important to highlight how businesses can develop innovative approaches to promoting better attendance in schools.

RaaWee’s April 20 workshop will wrap up the series developed by its Every Day Matters Summit (EDM) collaboration The series provides free resources and an event forum for sharing best practices. All of the EDM resources are available to education professionals who share in the critical efforts against chronic absenteeism.

The six-part series is concluding this month with a workshop that allows district attendance teams to work together to build or re-invent their district attendance improvement plan. Recordings of the previous events in the series are available in the video archives

“At RaaWee K12, supporting educators on the front lines of student attendance intervention is our purpose,” said Saleem Qazi, RaaWee K12 CEO. “This event series allows us to support leadership discussions on the critical foundations of attendance improvement.”
